FAQ

Students have come to me after one year of making little to no progress. For example, I had students who had worked with a TOEFL tutor for 7-8 months and still scored only 65 points.

After THREE weeks of working with me, they finally were able to score 80, which was the necessary minimum for them to apply to US colleges.

Average length of preparation with Me:

20 classes @ 1.5 hrs/class are usually more than enough to reach the student’s highest SAT/TOEFL potential.

Note: many students require less time than that and some require much less time: around 10 classes.

Preparing by yourself is totally viable, especially when you are PROACTIVE and like to work independently.

In fact, I got into Stanford by preparing completely by myself.

However, if you struggle with any of the following- relentless motivation, exceptional time management skills, great ability to multitask and set priority– then a consultant may be just what you need.

I will keep you accountable, on tract, and organized. Studies show that working with a specialist can create 10x results in a fraction of the time you would spend alone.

As soon as you feel ready. As a rule: students typically start preparing for the SAT in the summer before their Junior year or the beginning of their Junior Year.

Typically 3 times, although some students only take the exam once, as long as they reach their target score.

For example, I myself took the exam only once and I had a student who reached 1560 on his first try (he is now admitted to UPenn).

The SAT READING & WRITING section is particularly difficult for students today, especially for STEM students interested in Computer Science, Engineering, and the other Sciences.

Students struggle with the five Reading passages due to their lack of experience in reading Fiction, Classics, History, and in reading books in general.

In addition, many students come to me after they have studied with other tutors or on their own and they still have not discovered the Mentality and the Philosophy behind the SAT Verbal Section. Without fully grasping the structural and mental make-up of the exam, it is almost impossible to score in the excellent range of 700- 800 points.

In our work together, we focus on:

  1. In-depth learning of all essential SAT Reading strategies
  2. Deep understanding of the 8 types of questions and 4 types of mistakes on the SAT Reading
  3. How to read, how and what to underline, what to focus on
  4.  Your weaknesses and how to overcome them
  5. Additional video and printed material as needed
  6. Completing one practice test each week and closely monitoring your results and PROGRESS

What you can expect:

  1. YOU WILL RAISE YOUR SAT VERBAL SCORE BY AT LEAST 100 POINTS IN THE SHORTEST TIME POSSIBLE, TYPICALLY IN 4-5 MEETINGS.

  2. YOU WILL REACH THE HIGHEST SCORE ACCORDING TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL POTENTIAL.

  3. YOU WILL STUDY ACCORDING TO A CAREFULLY DESIGNED LONG-TERM PLAN WITH SHORT-TERM GOALS AND RESULTS MEASURED EACH WEEK.
